Want great skin? Eat your fruits and veggies and you’ll be looking good well into your senior years. Here are some of my favorite fruit choices for healthy skin.

Embrace Berries
Whether it’s blackberries, strawberries, raspberries, or blueberries, the plump fruits are high in antioxidants and vitamins C and E. The main support comes from the vitamin C, which aids in producing collagen and helps repair your skin. So if you want smooth and full skin, load up on berries. Add them to cereal, muffins, yogurt, or make a nut-berry mix for snacking in front of the tube.

Bring out Those Reds
Eat fruits and veggies rich in lycopene. This is the pigment that causes the red color in fruit and it’s actually an antioxidant. And you know what they do? They help shield you against those harmful free radicals

Lycopene is the a-list antioxidant walking the produce red-carpet. The red family includes: tomatoes, pink grapefruit, watermelon, papaya, of course red bell peppers, and more. This wonder antioxidant actually protects your skin from the harmful rays of the sun, too.

Squeeze on the Lemon
Did you know that lemons are a great home beauty aid? You can use them to cleanse and refresh your skin.

Indulge in a few citrus pleasures:
• Apply lemon slices to those rough areas of the skin like your heels and elbows.
• Mix a couple of teaspoons of lemon juice in your bathtub as a freshening solution.
• Spritz a bit of lemon juice into your shampoo to rejuvenate your scalp and ward off dandruff.
